MOPS Council Coordinator (CC)

Purpose: To provide leadership to the MOPS International Councils through ensuring group retention and support of Local MOPS groups. Responsible for Council Group Retention, MOPS International Membership participation, and Service goals.

Utilize leadership experience, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, public speaking skills and written/verbal communication skills in order to accomplish this purpose and to support the vision of MOPS International.

Scope: This person interacts with assigned MOPS group leadership in order to provide training and support. She is accountable to the Area Coordinator for meeting the needs of assigned MOPS group leadership.

General Responsibilities:

  • Read and be responsible for knowing the content of all MOPS Handbooks provided by MOPS International, Connections magazine, MOPS International's Web site, the Field Leaders' Web site, and other materials or e-mail sent from MOPS International.
  • Expected attendance at MOPS International Convention, as well as MOPS training events that are within reasonable proximity of the Council Coordinator's home. Attend CC training held in conjunction with Convention or MOPS training events. Assist with any other MOPS International events in the Zone.
  • Communicate with Area Coordinator regularly and attend CC training held within the Zone.
  • Communicate with MOPS International by submitting monthly hours and Field Leader Expense Report to AC as needed.
  • Complete a year-end Evaluation and Commitment Renewal for MOPS International. Submit annual goals and review them periodically with the Area Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

Council Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Council group retention of at least 90%.
  • Plan and conduct at least two Council training events each year. Responsibilities may include communication with the host church and MOPS group, selecting training topics, securing speakers and networking facilitators, and writing thank you notes.
  • Submit Council Planning Form to AC 6-8 weeks prior to each Council meeting. Order supplies from RC using Field Leader Supply Order Form.
  • Submit Council Meeting Report no later than two weeks after each Council meeting. Return Council offering and Council Offering Remittance Form to MOPS International within three days.

Group Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing support and training to assigned MOPS group leadership through phone calls, e-mails, written notes, and prayer. On-site visits are an option as the need arises.
  • Facilitate two-way communication between MOPS International and groups.
  • Communicate MOPS International vision, updates, news, and opportunities to assigned groups.
  • Communicate assigned group information, updates, and needs to the Area Coordinator and MOPS International staff.
  • Provide resources or assistance to individuals or ministries interested in starting a MOPS group.
  • Contact newly assigned MOPS groups with a welcome call and other scheduled follow-up. Provide feedback to AC on support given to each new group using the CC New Group Checklist.
  • Provide consultation and training for established MOPS groups. Keep Area Coordinator informed of any groups that are considering dropping their charter, so that assistance may be offered in a timely manner.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and fulfill responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • An effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
  • A team player with an ability to take initiative, unite a team, set and achieve goals, and anticipate needs.
  • Ability to supervise, train, and retain volunteers. Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Must have in-home access to Internet, e-mail, file attachments, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

MOPS Field Leadership

Like most non-profit organizations or ministries, MOPS cannot exist without its important team of volunteers that are the hands and feet of the ministry. MOPS In Europe is continuously searching for and recruiting experienced MOPS leaders to serve in Field Leadership positions.

Are you moving out of MOPS leadership but would still like to serve MOPS on a wider scale? Do you have a talent for communication with MOPS leaders or have the passion to spread MOPS further in Europe? Maybe MOPS Field Leadership is for you!

NOTE: Field Leadership is open to all moms who have served previously in MOPS leadership positions and you do NOT have to have children still in the preschool years! MOPS Zone Events Coordinator (ZEC)

Purpose: Plan and manage logistics of Zone events. Assist MOPS International Events Team in various aspects of MOPS International Event management support and planning.

Scope: The Zone Event Coordinator (ZEC) interacts with assigned Zone Field Leaders in order to provide support for Zone and MOPS International events. She is accountable to the Area Coordinator for coordinating the logistics of scheduled events in her Zone.

General Responsibilities:

  • Read and be responsible for knowing the content of all MOPS Handbooks provided by MOPS International, Connections, MOPS International's Web sites, the Field Leaders' Web site and other materials or e-mail sent from MOPS International.
  • Expected attendance at MOPS International Convention, as well as additional MOPS training events that are within reasonable proximity of the Event Coordinator's home. Attend Field Leader training held in conjunction with Convention or MOPS training events. Assist with any other MOPS International events within the Zone.
  • Communicate with Area Coordinator regularly and attend Field Leader training held within the Zone.
  • Communicate with MOPS International by submitting monthly hours and Field Leader Expense Report to Area Coordinator as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee logistics of Zone events including, but not limited to, Zone meeting and retreats as directed by Area Coordinator
  • Oversee logistics and management of Zone Summit Sites
  • Interface with Area Coordinator and other Field Leaders within the Zone
  • Interface with MOPS International Events Team, event contractors, vendors and venues
  • Identify and coordinate local speakers and volunteers for Zone events under the direction of the Area Coordinator
  • Coordinate local production, technical needs and meals as required
  • Coordinate portions of on-going MOPS International Events, as needed
  • Coordinate local event promotions using pre-produced promotional materials
  • Other duties as assigned and agreed upon by the Area Coordinator and Zone Event Coordinator
