Thank you for your interest in Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS). MOPS is an incredible outreach ministry to mothers with young children. MOPS began over 30 years ago in Colorado with just eight women. Today, MOPS meets the needs of over 110,000 moms in over 35 different countries. Currently, we have close to 30 active Military MOPS groups worldwide.

Our most successful Military MOPS groups are those that have a Chaplain who takes a genuine interest in their welfare by advising and supporting them on a regular basis. I am convinced that MOPS is an invaluable ministry for our Military Chapels. As you well know, military families are facing extremely difficult times. I hear from hurting mothers everyday, struggling to find hope and peace in their lives.

MOPS provides a social, spiritual, and educational network of support for mothers of young children. This has tremendous impact on the morale of our military installations. Well-nurtured mothers, surrounded with the support and encouragement of Christian friends, will in turn nurture happier children, husbands, and communities.

MOPS provides Chapels the opportunity to take ministry to a new level by reaching out to those who are not currently accessing the spiritual care provided by Chaplaincy services. MOPS provides a non-threatening environment where mothers come to be refreshed, educated by Biblical teaching on parenting and marriage, develop friendships, and be spiritually nourished.

Many times young mothers who will not normally attend a Chapel will attend a MOPS group and subsequently bring other family members to join the Chapel in worship. In addition to reaching the unchurched, MOPS offers incredible opportunities for young Christian women to grow as Christian leaders. I am glad to answer any questions that you might have. Please do not hesitate to contact me via email, phone, or post at any time.

"As an Army wife and mother of four kids, ages six and under, I cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciated the MOMSense magazine article, 'Friends Becoming Family.' My husband had been in the army for only a year and a half, so when we moved all the way across the country away from our family and friends, I was scared and worried. Then I met Allie and Amy, both army wives and mothers of preschoolers -- that year we joined a MOPS group. As military wives we make family wherever we go -- withour friends. Thank you MOPS!"
